Sandra Walker Howell, was a former guest whose character was portrayed in the play, "Read-y for Right", presented at the Sycamore Rouge Dinner Theater.  This true story is an original play by KB Saine about the first Civil Rights Protest in Petersburg, VA, when the Petersburg Public Library became the center of the struggle for desegregation. Led by Rev. Wyatt Tee Walker, protesters walked into the whites-only section of the library and sat down to read. Their determination, their willingness to go to jail, and their courage to fight for their rights drive this story home.
